Hey that rhymes!!

He recently learned how to go DOWN the stairs. He had been going UP since we got him. It is really nice not to have to carry him down stairs anymore. He is starting to get bigger. About a week ago we weighed him at 22 pounds. He has another appointment at the vet tomorrow and we will see where he is then.

In other news...I am starting my second wellness challenge next week. I am so ready to do this again. Last time I lost an average of 2 pounds per week and won highest percent lost at 7.3% of my body weight. I was actually really surprised by that. I am on orange team again but all my team mates are different from last time.

Also, Michael had surgery a week ago last Monday (inguinal hernia). I didn't realize the recovery time was as long as it is. It looks like it will take him longer to recover than it did me from my hysterectomy last year.

The other exciting news is that Julie married Zach Thackery last Monday. I have not met him yet but everyone who has likes him and thinks that they will make a good family. He has a 5 year old son named Sammy so between them they have 3 children, a 6, 5, and 4 year old. That will keep them busy.

I can't remember if I posted that Diane and Tyrone moved to Olathe a few weeks ago. They are really happy to be together every night again. It also sounds like Daniel and Shanae might be moving there this summer.

I posted more than just about Thor...LOL :)

Puppies name is:

Thor!!  

He is a very good puppy most of the time. House training is going...well sometimes and not so well others. We are thinking about crate training him but have not decided for sure. 

 We got him a new bed today and he definitely needs to grow into it but we couldn't see getting him one he would outgrow in a couple of months.

Right now life is all about Thor :)

HOME!!

So yesterday I flew home. Right before Michael picked ME up at the airport he picked HIM up from a breeder:

HE is an 8 week old black lab. We still have to name him. He might be named "toothless" which makes perfect sense after having "buzz lightyear" for 13 years. One thing I know for sure is he is NOT toothless and I have the scratch to prove it :)

Spring has sprung!!

I am still here in Arkansas and the bulbs and trees are blooming!!


Going home on Tuesday of next week...just slightly excited...LOL!!

Some new happenings

I decided to go to my nephew's wedding in the Nauvoo temple on Feb. 19. As an added bonus I got to see my mom and dad who came home from their mission to attend. It was fun to see Krista and her family. Then I came to Kansas to visit my family and help Diane prepare to move. My plan was to stay until Friday then go to the OKC temple with my family again and then drive on back to Arkansas. However, I got sick and spent Friday, Saturday, and most of Sunday in bed at my sister's home (I thought I would let my daughter have her weekend with her husband). I am finally starting to feel better and will probably head back to Arkansas tomorrow or Thursday.

Today I had a fun experience though. A friend has a couple Golden Retrievers that she has trained as search and rescue dogs. She asked my sisters that are living in Wichita and I if we would like to go out with her on a training exercise and let her dogs find us. So we went and did that and had a blast. They came and searched for us twice and we did a lot of hiking in the woods (or at least as much of woods as you get in KS...lol). They were very good at finding us too. It was sure a fun way to get my exercise in for the day :)
